Skylar is a Certified Dance Movement Psychotherapist, Acroyoga Instructor and Dance Teacher. She is also the founder of Move & Mend, a practice where movement becomes repair for oneself and with others - through dance therapy and partnerwork.
Her belief is simple: the body does not lie. From a young age, Skylar knew that movement was not merely cathartic, but informative - a doorway to clarity, compassion, and deeper connection with oneself and others.
Her path has been shaped by both rigorous training and lived conviction. Holding a degree in Psychology from the National University of Singapore, she spent four years in Child Protective Services before pursuing a formal diploma in Dance Therapy. Since then, she has worked across clinical and community settings with a wide range of populations - at-risk and mainstream youths, adults, elderly groups with mental health disorders, those in special education, dancers, and corporate clients - always through a trauma-informed lens. She also an integrative practitioner with a certificate in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy.
In parallel, Skylar is building a practice that blends partnerwork and dance therapy, creating safe spaces for growth across three dimensions: physical, social, and emotional. Her work is anchored in a quietly urgent question - what more is this body capable of? - and she invites each client to discover their own answer, with agency, and in community.
